IPP广泛用于化妆品中，具有优良的保湿和滋润皮肤作用。皮肤对本品的吸收性很好，能在皮层内与毛囊有效接触，渗入皮层深处，并将化妆品中的活性组分带入，充分发挥有效成分的作用。作为化妆品溶剂及皮肤保湿剂、渗透剂，棕榈酸异丙酯可用于溶胶产品、浴油、毛发调理剂、护肤霜、防晒霜、剃须膏等化妆品中。本品在化妆品中添加量为2-10%。
